Rating: 5/10

I kept falling asleep while I was trying to watch this. It sounded like it would be interesting, and I tried my hardest to like it, but I just couldn’t get in to it at all.

This is one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. Like seriously, there was nonstop laughter. This is definitely one of my top ten movies. I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD.

The acting was pretty corny, but it was a decent movie all together. I liked the concept, I just wish better actors had been cast.

April Showers
Rating: 10/10

This movie’s main focus is of the Columbine shootings and it’s aftermath. I knew it would be sad to watch, but I honestly wasn’t expecting to be crying the whole entire time. I absolutely loved the way this was executed though. There were a couple of different story lines and flashbacks to follow, and it was just really good.

Werewolf: The Beast Among Us
Rating: 7/10

The twists in this movie weren’t anything that I didn’t see coming. I expected there to be a bit more horror than what there was, but that tends to happen with a lot of the supernatural movies that I watch. The beginning was pretty slow, but it eventually picked up. I’m not sure if I would ever watch this again, but I won’t knock it down if anybody were to ask me about it.

Abduction Of Eden
Rating: 10/10

This movie was great about accurately showing human trafficking from the victim’s perspective. It pulled me in within the first couple minutes, and I was glued to my screen to see what exactly was going to happen. I don’t have any knowledge of the true story that this was based on, so I can’t be sure how accurate it is in that aspect. But as just a movie in general, I really liked it.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
Rating: 6.5/10

I’m glad I didn’t spend money to watch this in theaters. The script wasn’t that great, and I feel like the fight scenes could have been better. It wasn’t a complete failure of a movie, but I probably won’t see the sequel.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
Rating: 7.5/10

It was an okay movie. My friends have been badgering me for the past couple of years to watch this movie, and they had it hyped up to be so much better than it was. There were plenty of funny moments, and the fights were awesome to watch. Considering this was all based off a theme park ride, it’s very impressive. It just didn’t live up to the hype that everyone gave it. I’m going to have to find the sequels somewhere (they aren’t on Netflix) and maybe I’ll be able to hop right in to the bandwagon.

Saving Mr. Banks
Rating: 5.5/10

Tom Hanks did an amazing job at playing Walt Disney. But other than that, there was nothing about this movie I liked. I understand that Mrs. Traverse (I think that’s how it’s spelled) was very stubborn, but it was to the point that I honestly didn’t want to finish the movie. I was expecting so much more from this movie, and it was a big disappointment.

America The Beautiful
Rating: 6/10

Our society sucks. That’s all I could really get out of this documentary. It talks about this 12-year-old supermodel and how she had nice self confidence (but she wasn’t cocky about her beauty), and at the end of her modeling career, it tore her down to the point where she thought she was unbearably ugly.

Rating: 8.5/10

I was expecting a completely different movie based on the summary. It was odd and interesting all at the same time. It wasn’t scary like I had anticipated (except for when the clown was stalking the little boy. I hate clowns), but it was still pretty decent. I would consider this more of a scary movie for kids over anything else.

This is just the same as every other I’m-a-successful-singer-so-I’ll-make-a-movie-about-my-tour film that’s been released. I’m a fan of Katy Perry, so it was easy to sit through and watch this, but I don’t think I would have really cared if I wasn’t a fan.

Black Hawk Down
Rating: 10/10

I don’t usually like war movies, mainly because I’m bored with the history of them. But this one was different. My dad served in Afghanistan when I was too little to understand what war was, so I don’t know the kind of things he went through. Even though this was about Somalia, it was easy for me to picture my dad in these situations. I have a lot of pride in our military, and watching some of the deaths in this movie was hard. I cried many times throughout this two and a half hours. This movie was amazing, and I’m glad it was able to snag some Academy Awards. With all that said, because of how accurate this movie was, I’m not sure I could bring myself to ever watch it a second time.

Despite what the Netflix reviews say, this was a really good movie. I might have a little bit of bias because I play tennis, but that’s beside the point. This was a movie about changing yourself for the better, and I think it was shot really well. I had low expectations because of the reviews I read before I watched the movie, but it turned out to be pretty good.
